Few days back, I had placed a 'domain transfer' order in Porkbun. The name transfer failed as the domain was not available any more. Under such cases, usually, registrars 'keep trying' many times for few days/weeks, before they give up.
Porkbun too tried many times and on the 2nd day, they sent me an email asking if the transfer needs to be cancelled.
I replied yes. The customer support asked me 'confirm' the 'order cancellation and refund'. I confirmed.
They sent me an email stating:
"I have refunded the order and cancelled the transfer. You should see the refund returned to the payment method you used within the next 5-10 days."
Hopefully the refund should arrive in 5 to 10 days time.
This is the quickest ever experience with regard to 'domain transfer failure, refund process'.
Other registrars take 1 or 2 weeks to reach the refund process.

One of the worst mistakes I've made in my domaining career to try Porkbun. Thought I could save a few cents, but should have known better. Had an account and couldn't get support on basic questions that other, better-known and more commonly-used registrars make standard. I'm guessing this will be another of the many registrars who try to get a lot of customers with ultra-low pricing, but then disappear when you need them or have questions. Better to go with a more well-known and established registrar like Dynadot, Namesilo or Namecheap. I have domains with each and can tell you they are all light years ahead of the jokers at Porkbun.

Transfered in from Name.com due to pricing. I've reached out to support a couple of times with general questions about their interface and always got either someone on the phone or a reply via email within a few hours. So far so good, no complaints.

Ugh - my fault for trying to use "the new guy" on the block to save a little money. Porkbun customer support is terrible and didn't reply to me for 3 days. When I finally got a reply, it was clearly from someone without even the most basic idea of how DNS works. Their system looks nice from the outside, but once you start using it, you'll come to the same conclusion as me which is that it is better to go with a more established registrar without obvious growing pains. Avoid Porkbun unless you want to waste time haggling with a company that clearly has no business being in the domain business!

I got linked here from a forum post regarding Porkbun. I've had nothing but a good experience since I started using Porkbun about a year ago. My only complaints, if you can call them that, is that they need to support more ccTLDs and it would be nice if customer support hours were more than 9 - 5 Monday - Friday. That being said, when I have needed support it was friendly and fast, I feel like the other reviewer here might have been an anomaly and wish he would have given details about his review. Their control panel is simple and clean. Pricing could not be more transparent as all pricing is listed on their pricing page. They offer two factor verification for account login, not sure how it could be more secure. Transfer process has worked fine for me, with a few minor hiccups here and there that they quickly resolved. Give them a try IMHO.

Customer support is terrible. Nobody knows what they are talking about there and they never understand the issues. The User Interface is quite confusing as well.

I tried Porkbun due to their pricing, but I certainly regret that decision. I've had nothing but problems and their customer support is entirely useless and maddening. My advice, spend a few more pennies and go with a registrar that can help when needed. It's no wonder they have only 2,500 domains as of this writing!
